Here’s How ‘Superman: Legacy’ Is Connected To Peacemaker Season 2

James Gunn has confirmed that Peacemaker Season 2 will be his next project after ‘Superman: Legacy’.

Gunn recently appeared on Michael Rosenbaum’s ‘Inside of You’ podcast, where he talked about shifting to Peacemaker Season 2 after helming the upcoming David Corenswet starrer. The director revealed: “That’s my next thing. I’ll go straight into Peacemaker from Superman.”

This scenario also gives Gunn a chance to fix a major issue that has plagued the DCEU for quite some time. We are talking about the faceless cameos.

Fans watched Superman without Henry Cavill’s face during the final moments of Shazam! (2019). Billy’s superhero version brings the Man of Steel to their school to cheer up his foster brother, Freddy. A similar scenario took place in the finale of Peacemaker Season 1. The group of Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman appeared in the show’s final episode. They were there to help Peacemaker and the rest of his team. In that scene, we see Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa making a cameo appearance. But we do not see Cavil in that scene as his future with the DCEU was unclear at that time.

Warner Bros’ decision of not including cameos of Cavill’s Superman in DCEU films and relying too heavily on cameos from other Justice League members adversely affected the superhero franchise. This scenario also pointed out the lack of cohesion in the franchise.

James Gunn can solve this problem easily, given he is literally running the show now for Warner Bros and DC Studios, along with Peter Safran. ‘Superman: Legacy’ will arrive in theatres globally on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
