The second season of ZEE5’s gritty and gripping crime drama franchise, Rangbaaz, is all set to drop in the streaming platform on December 20. Here’s some dope on it for our discerning readers.
Rangbaaz is arguably ZEE5’S most successful web series ever, right from the time the OTT platform began dabbling in the cluttered milieu of Original web series. The first season of the gritty crime drama featured the rise and fall of dreaded gangster Shivprakash Shukla, with Bollywood hunk Saqib Saleem enacting Shukla’s character.
The first season’s success has compelled ZEE5 honchos to leverage the interest and come back with a Season 2, which will throw light on the life and times of another Indian gangster.
Interestingly, the narratives are based on real-life stories.
Season 2 features Jimmy Sheirgill in the lead role of Amarpal Singh. Sushant Singh will be seen essaying the crucial role of Jairam Godara, a close friend of Amarpal Singh. Gul Panag, Zeeshan Ayyub, Sharad Kelkar and Harsh Chhaya will play other vital characters in the series.
Rangbaaz Season 2, titled Rangbaaz Phirse, will be gritty, fast-paced and thrilling, delving deep into the life of a gangster caught in the web of a dream gone sour.
Rangbaaz is a marquee property of ZEE5, which was much appreciated by audiences when it premiered in December 2018. So it makes ample sense to milk it for what it’s worth. The series is characterised by its impressive ensemble cast. Season 1 had Ranvir Shorey, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Aahana Kumra and Ravi Kishen playing pivotal roles, besides lead Saqib Saleem.
Season 2 is written by Siddharth Mishra, also writer of Season 1, directed by Sachin Pathak and produced by JAR Productions.
Rangbaaz Phirse will premiere on ZEE5 on 20 December 2019.
