Here’s What James Gunn Thinks About A Possible Marvel/DC Crossover

Imagine Sentry going head-to-head in an epic battle or Batman battling with Moon Knight. We know all these scenarios look good in dreams. Now that James Gunn has become the captain of DCU’s ship, what are the chances that fans might witness a possible Marvel/DCU crossover soon?

A Marvel/DC crossover is certainly on Gunn’s mind, though we should not expect to see it soon. This is what DCU’s co-head told Deadline at the Los Angeles premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3:

“I think that it would look like something that will be happening in about 10 years. Not today, because we have a whole bunch of other DC movies we need to tell,” the helmer said.

Vol 3 brings the celebrated Guardians trilogy to an end. For now, it also marks the end of Gunn’s impressive run in the MCU. Now, the director has all the time in the world to concentrate on the DCU and make it better than the DCEU. The upcoming Guardians entry will explore Rocket’s origins and gives a closer look at Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock. According to Gunn, “Rocket was the secret protagonist of the entire trilogy.”

Bringing both Marvel and DC universes together is something that would fill the veins of superhero fans with pure excitement. Plus, this scenario will benefit from the massive fanbases these franchises treasure, which have grown significantly in the last few years. Seeing prominent superheroes from both universes and exploring new ideas would be an amazing opportunity.

Helmed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will arrive in theatres globally on May 5. Stay tuned for more updates.
