Taapsee Pannu has got a buzzing year ahead for her with as many as seven titles lined up for release. But not all is as it looks and there’s this big question of when will these films premiere so as to avoid clashes with one another?
Among the upcoming films of the ‘Thappad’ actress we have,
Haseen Dilruba – A dark thriller by Vinil Mathew (‘Hasee Toh Phasee’).
Rashmi Rocket – Directed by Akarsh Khurana, Taapsee will play the role of an athlete in the film. Her co-stars include Priyanshu Painyuli and Abhishek Banerjee.
Loop Lapeta – It is the official remake of ‘Run Lola Run’, a 1998 German film by Tom Tykwer. The film also stars Tahir Bhasin and its first look was released recently.
Shabaash Mithu – Taapsee will step into the shoes of a sportsperson as she plays the role of female Indian cricketer Mithila Raj in Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Shabaash Mithu’.
Do Baraa – A supernatural film by Anurag Kashyap.
Untitled Tamil comedy – While all above are Hindi films, Taapsee hasn’t forgotten the southern film industry and will soon be seen in a yet to be named Tamil comedy alongside Vijay Sethupathi.
Talks are doing rounds that the producers of all these films might soon issue a joint plan regarding their release dates. In fact, it is claimed that such an announcement for so many films of one particular actor would be a first of its kind. But the issue to take note here is that this decision process does not involve Taapsee’s opinion.
We say so because Taapsee herself replied to one such tweet by a trade analyst, where she says, “I wish I had a say in the release matter but nahi hai 🤷🏻♀️ so we will have to wait for the producers only to take that call”.
The question that comes to mind here is that why do actors, who constitute a very prominent part of a film, not have a say in its release matter? Actors know every bit of their film, as they practically live the script in front of the camera, so shouldn’t their opinion be of any importance?
Well, seems like, similar to us, even Taapsee is waiting and watching, for what fate do the producers decide for her hard work. Until then, we at Binged wish the talented young actress a very good luck👍🏻.
