Fan favourite star Ajith’s latest theatrical release ‘Good Bad Ugly’ is currently running in theatres and to everyone’s disappointment, just like his last film ‘Vidaamuyarchi’, this one too did not manage to please the critics or the public in a way it was expected.
Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ is about a fearless don who tries to change his ruthless ways and violent past to live peacefully with his family. However, his dark past continues to haunt him and instead of running away from it he faces it head on eventually overcoming it.
Now the premise itself doesn’t sound very novel or interesting and that’s what happened in its execution where it failed quite badly. According to the critics, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ struggles to balance homage and storytelling and ultimately just pleases Ajith’s fans who get to see the star in all his aura in the film.
The film has been criticised for a shallow storyline with no emotional core and for being too over the top. And while the box office numbers might look decent, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ isn’t anywhere close to a cinematic masterpiece.
So yeah, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ is worth your time only if you love Ajith and are a big fan of him as a star.
‘Good Bad Ugly’ is in its third week in theatres now and next week after it completes four weeks in theatres it must land on Netflix on 8th May, 2025.
