Here’s Why Netflix’s Extraction 2 Looks Better Than Original Movie

Tyler Rake is alive, and fans will see him doing a lot of ass-kicking action in Netflix’s upcoming feature, Extraction 2, which serves as a sequel to the original 2020 film. The recent clips from the film have shown Rake becoming a black ops mercenary again for a perilous extraction mission. However, the stakes are higher this time as the protagonist has to save all the family members of a ruthless Georgian gangster, who are being held in prison.

The thing that is being considered as Extraction 2’s main highlight is its 21-minute long one-take action sequence. The first film’s longest one-take action sequence was nearly 12 minutes long. Though, Russo Brothers have confirmed that they did not time the one-take shot in the sequel and decided to let it play during the editing procedure for as long as they felt it was necessary for the story. Both teaser and trailer have shown a good portion of that sequence. So, we should expect the best from it while watching it completely on Netflix.

Joe Russo has written the script for Extraction 2. He has also produced the project, along with his brother Anthony Russo. Both brothers have delivered quality content amidst sky-high expectations. Movies like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame are the epitome of this scenario. Plus, we have the sequel’s helmer, Sam Hargrave, whose extensive background as a stunt performer aided him in giving breathtaking action sequences and hand-to-hand fight scenes in the first film. We should expect that his vision for the sequel will bestow high levels of fun and entertainment to viewers.

In addition, Joe Russo revealed that Extraction 2 would differ greatly from the original entry in terms of the storyline and its execution. He spoke about the sequel in an interview with Collider last year. This is what he said:

“It’s great. It’s very different from ‘Extraction 1’, which we like. It’s its own movie in that regard. It has a different colour schematic. It’s set in a different part of the world. It has a different pace, a different tone than the first one. And that, to us, is an interesting way to approach serializing a story, is that it’s more surprising and unexpected, and you’re not going to get the exact same movie that you got the last time out. So we’re really excited about it, and we think it was beautifully shot. Hemsworth’s fantastic in it. And we’re excited to share it with audiences.”

Extraction 2 will release on Netflix on June 16. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt, and many more talents. Stay tuned for more updates.
