In the cutthroat world of streaming, OTT players across the globe are all vying for the biggest pie. And Netflix is no exception. In fact, the streaming giant boasts of some differentiating factors and strategies under its arsenal and one of them is the way they have been developing ‘interactive’ specials for their streaming portfolio.
Previously, Netflix successfully cracked the ‘interactive entertainment’ code back in the year 2018 with its interactive movie ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’, which went on to win two Primetime Emmy Awards. Later, Netflix also released more interactive titles such as ‘Ranveer Vs Wild with Bear Grylls’ featuring Indian actor Ranveer Singh alongside renowned daredevil adventurer Bear Grylls, and more recently, the animated interactive special ‘We Lost Our Human’. The curiosity quotient around interactive titles has gone up over the years.
And now, Netflix is all set to release its first ever interactive romantic comedy called ‘Choose Love’. And that is what makes this seemingly regular rom-com so special. Because it’s executed in an interactive format where, to an extent, the viewer is under control of the goings-on and the direction the love story takes.
The interactive romantic comedy ‘Choose Love’ revolves around the central character named Cami, who seems to have everything but whose life did not exactly turn out to be as she had envisioned. Now, it’s up to the viewer to decide the fate of her career, her romantic relationship, and the story’s ending. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
‘Choose Love’ is all set to start streaming on Netflix from 31st August and the interactive element is a big reason why you should look forward to watching / playing the rom-com. It has been directed by Stuart McDonald (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, American Housewife). Let’s see whether Netflix’s ‘Choose Love’ clicks with the OTT viewers or not.
