The upcoming movie of actor Vishal was titled Chakra and was scheduled to release on theatres on 1st May 2020 but due to shut theatres for precautions of coronavirus the release was postponed and now after many delays, the film was supposed to arrive on an OTT platform but it seems like it will not be having a smooth road ahead because a complaint has been filed by a top production house Trident Arts against the movie which will result in not releasing the movie into an OTP platform. The complaint was filed against Vishal and the Chakra’s director Sundar C in the Madras High Court. The court has given them the notice to restrict the release of Chakra in the OTT platforms.
The story goes far back when Trident arts and Vishal were doing the film Action. Reportedly as claimed by Trident Arts, Vishal had asked them to make the movie in the budget of 44 crores and if the film will not be able to do more than 20 crores in box office, Vishal would bear the production cost. Eventually the film flopped at box office and Vishal owed a sum of 8 crore rupees to the production house.
To make things even, Vishal proposed that he will star in another movie by the production house so that the loss can be covered. Thus they signed Chakra. But Vishal and Sundar C made the film with another production house instead of Trident Arts. Now Trident Arts have filed a petition to stop the release of the film until the matters sort out.
The movie focuses on cybercrimes and E-commerce scams and stars, Vishal, Shraddha Srinath and Regina Cassandra
