‘Hi Nanna’ Tops Netflix Charts in Telugu and Hindi for 5 Weeks

The movie that introduced us to 65 Roses, Pluto doggo is dominating Netflix’s Top 10 even after 5 weeks of its digital debut! Released on 7 December 2023 in theaters worldwide, Nani-starrer ‘Hi Nanna’ has captured the hearts of critics and audiences alike. Directed by Shouryuv in his debut, this Telugu romantic, family drama has been making a place for itself on Netflix even amid competition from Prabhas’ ‘Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire.’

Featuring Nani and Mrunal Thakur in leading roles, and Kiara Khanna, Nassar, Jayaram in supporting roles and Shruti Hassan in cameo appearance, the story revolves around a father’s answer to her daughter’s only question: ‘Who is my mother?’ Nani’s portrayal of the single father navigating his emotions while raising his daughter has been hailed as nuanced and touching.

The pillar of ‘Hi Nanna’ lies in the ability to evoke empathy and connection with the characters, which make up for the weaker sections in the narrative. Thanks to the film’s cinematography, editing, and Wahab’s music, ‘Hi Nanna’ not only remained as an emotional rollercoaster but a good screen portrayal of a compelling family journey.

Released on Netflix on January 4, ‘Hi Nanna’ continues to dominate Netflix’s Top 10 continuously for five weeks, with its Hindi version “Hi Papa’ and Telugu version in the 6th and 10th positions, respectively. Get ready for a comfy sofa and tissue box for watching ‘Hi Nanna.’
