Parents are constantly worried about what children should see and this time Netflix has come to help. Netflixhas a wide range of documentaries and educational shows, perfect for children to kill their time and also learn. They have even created a list of shows available freely on their YouTube channel on the request of teachers. The documentaries and series are available with subtitles in English and other languages. An eight-episode series narrated by Sir David Attenborough explores the amazing nature surrounding us, how it has degraded, the role of humans in it and the consequences of such degradation. This short film produced by Indian film maker Guneet Monga and Iran’s Rayka Zehtabchi is an Oscar winner for Best Documentary Short Subject in 2019. Set in India’s Hapur district, it talks about the taboo of menstruation and attempts to break them by rural women. It’s the story of Zion Clark, a young wrestler who was born without legs. He grows up in a foster home and joins a wrestling team and wrestles against his able-bodied peers. This Emmy award winning short film show how zion’s courage and determination made him a renowned wrestler and an inspiration to the world.
7) Explained
The informative series explores an array of socially relevant topics, questions, and ideas. This amazing series will answer many questions like – When does sound become music? 10) 13th
This documentary is based on the 13th amendment of the United State’s constitution which reads, “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States.” This Oscar nominated movie has won at the Emmy, the BAFTAs and the NAACP Image Award. The story is about the loopholes in this amendment and its consequences. This documentary is an eye-opener.
