Disney+ Hotstar has dropped the trailer for its upcoming Hoststar Special web series ‘Home Shanti’ that’s all about that one big dream of any Indian middle class family. Directed by Aakanksha Dua, all episodes of ‘Home Shanti’ will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 6th May, 2022.
‘Home Shanti’ is the story of Joshi family who has this heartfelt desire to build their dream home. Joshi family comprises of poet Umesh Joshi (Manoj Pahwa), his principal wife Sarla Joshi (Supriya Pathak Kapur) and their two kids where the daughter (Chakori Dwivedi) is a genius while the son (Poojan Chhabra) is a wannabe athlete.
The trailer shows how after 25 years they have now embarked on the journey to fulfil their wish of a dream home. And then starts all the excitement and planning of what every family member wants in this new house. While it’s a private study for Sarla and Umesh, their daughter and son want a private bathroom and a gym respectively.
When the blurpints for new house arrives, these wishes seem to have been ignored but they get past it as having a home of their own is what comes above anything else. Well this journey for their dream home isn’t going to be an easy one for the Joshi family.
From bureaucratic red tapes, search for an architect to make a new blueprint to limited time frame for building the house, the problems for Joshi family doesn’t seem to stop. While this journey is filled with heartbreaks and sufferings, it’s the struggles and battles fought together that make it a memorable one.
With a story by Akshay Asthana, Nidhi Bisht, Aakanksha Dua, Mayank Pandey, Nikhil Sachan and Saurabh Khanna, ‘Home Shanti’ stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Manoj Pahwa, Chakori Dwivedi, Poojan Chhabra and Happy Ranajit among others.
Created and produced by Posham Pa Pictures ‘Home Shanti’ is produced by Amit Golani, Biswapati Sarkar, Sameer Saxena and Saurabh Khanna. Nidhi Bisht serves as the creative producer while Shubh Shivdasani (Bombay Film Cartel) is the co-producer for the Disney+ Hotstar series.
‘Home Shanti’ will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 6th May, 2022.
