Horror Film ‘Crimes Of The Future’ Gets OTT Release Date In India

By Binged Bureau - Jun 25, 2022 @ 08:06 am

David Cronenberg’s horror movie, ‘Crimes Of The Future‘ is one of the most awaited films for movie buffs in India. The film has been heaped with praise from audiences and critics alike. Though ‘Crimes Of The Future’ has gory images of body horror that are quite disturbing, the film has been appreciated for its novel treatment and innovative premise. The film released in theatres in the US on June 3. Now, we bring you the confirmed Crimes Of The Future OTT release date and OTT platform in India.

Crimes Of The Future will premiere in India on the exclusive and eclectic movie streaming platform, MUBI. The streamer announced the release date of Crimes Of The Future this morning. The film will release on MUBI on 29th July in India and other regions such as Latin America, Turkey and Malaysia.

Considering the extreme form of body horror depicted in the film, it is a certainty that ‘Crimes Of The Future’ will not arrive in Indian theatres. As a result, streaming is the only saviour for film buffs in India, who want to watch David Cronenberg’s artsy horror film.

The official synopsis of Crimes Of The Future reads – “As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission — to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.”

Crimes Of The Future joins other recent high profile acquisitions for MUBI, including Park Chan-wook’s ‘Decision To Leave’, Léa Mysius’s ‘The Five Devils’, Thomas Hardiman’s ‘Medusa Deluxe’, and Joachim Trier’s ‘The Worst Person in the World’.

Crimes Of The Future is written and directed by David Cronenberg and produced by Robert Lantos. It stars Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman and Welket Bungué in pivotal roles in the film.
