SonyLIV has finally announced the release date of its much anticipated upcoming web series ‘Tanaav’. Helmed by National Award winning director Sudhir Mishra, ‘Tanaav’ is the Indian adaptation of the super hit Israeli series ‘Fauda’.
The date announcement for SonyLIV’s ‘Tanaav’ came with relaunching of the teaser that promised a gripping watch. Set in the idyllic backdrop of Kashmir in the year 2017, ‘Tanaav’ tells the story of a Special Covert Osps Unit, their bravery and courage.
Delving into the human drama behind the ideologies, dealing with complex emotions and flawed characters, all of whom share the same feeling of love, loss, betrayal and revenge, ‘Tanaav’ is a socio-political action drama with family at its core.
The fast paced drama consists of 12 enthralling episodes and the cast is an eclectic ensemble consisting of Manav Vij, Sumit Kaul, Rajat Kapoor, Shashank Arora, Arbaaz Khan, Zarina Wahab, Ekta Kaul, Waluscha De Sousa, Danish Hussain, Satyadeep Mishra, Sukhmani Sadana, Sahiba Bali, Amit Gaur, Arslan Goni, Rockey Raina, M. K. Raina, Sheen Das, Aryaman Seth amongst other in prominent roles.
Sudhir Mishra serves as the showrunner and series director for ‘Tanaav’ with Sachin Mamta Krishn as the episode director. The screenplay has been adapted by Ishan Trivedi and Sudhir Mishra. Created by Applause Entertainment, the series is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal and Siddharth Khaitan.
Created by Avi Issacharoff & Lior Raz and Distributed by yes Studios, ‘Fauda’ has been tremendously praised internationally, and is said to be one of the best shows made in foreign language. While staying true to the original format, its Indian adaptation ‘Tanaav’ has been reimagined for a larger Indian and global audence.
