HOTD Actor to Star in Sylvester Stallone-Backed Boxing Biopic Giant

On the heels of his critically admired performance as the king of the seven kingdoms in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel series ‘House of the Dragon’, English actor Paddy Considine has been roped in to star in a boxing drama titled ‘Giant’. The film is based on the life of former professional British boxer Naseem Hamed aka Prince Naseem and is being backed by none other than ‘Rocky’ actor and Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone.

Alongside Paddy Considine, the boxing film ‘Giant’ will also feature the Egypt-born actor Mena Massoud, who is known for his performance in and as Guy Ritchie’s 2019 fantasy adventure film ‘Aladdin’.

The boxing biopic ‘Giant’ will focus on how the real-life boxer Prince Naseem was discovered by an Irish-born steel industry worker turned boxing trainer Brendan Ingle. The film’s story will delve into the relationship between the boxing coach and his protégé and how their unique alliance and their performance in the boxing ring catapulted them into international fame and stardom. And that too when Islamophobia was omnipresent in Britain during the 80s and the 90s period.

In the film, Paddy Considine will essay the role of boxing trainer Brendan Ingle and Mena Massoud will play the part of boxing champ Prince Naseem. ‘Giant’ will be written and directed by Rowan Athale.

Although there is no dearth of boxing films in Hollywood, however, with the two talented performers Paddy Considine and Mena Massoud playing the lead roles in ‘Giant’, it should be a delight to watch them and their on-screen chemistry. Hoping for some serious creative fireworks here. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the upcoming boxing biopic film ‘Giant’.
