Disney Star, a media and entertainment company, has partnered with Pratilipi, an online self-publishing and audiobook portal, for a multi-series content deal. This association will allow Disney Star to develop multiple new fiction television and OTT shows adapted from stories available on Pratilipi, intended to be broadcast across languages on Disney Star’s TV and digital platforms, the two companies said in a statement.
You know what it means? Even your stories can be adapted into a series if they are available on Pratilipi.
This will be the first time a TV series will be adapted and developed from an online self-publishing and audiobook platform, the statement added. Stories on Pratilipi are currently available in the form of short stories, series, audiobooks, and comics.
The deal is expected to be innovative and groundbreaking, as it will bring fresh and diverse stories from emerging writers across the country to the mainstream audience. Pratilipi has over 10 million stories in 12 languages, covering various genres such as romance, thriller, horror, fantasy, comedy, and drama.
Disney Star and Pratilipi will collaborate to select the best stories from Pratilipi’s platform and adapt them into engaging and entertaining TV shows. The shows will cater to different tastes and preferences of the viewers, and will also showcase the rich and diverse culture of India.
