It is a very crucial year for Disney+Hotstar. For the past many years, the platform has been single-handedly enjoying complete dominance over the Indian OTT space. But things are not as favorable for them as it was a year back.
Rewind to one year, they had the exclusive right to stream IPL, in addition, they had a vast library of HBO shows that are not only great in terms of quality but are also a magnet in terms of views. Now that the streaming giant has lost both of them, they need to focus.
They need to elevate their user experience as much as possible because it seems to be the only rescue. With some complaints in streaming, the most prominent amongst them is about abrupt ads.
The streaming giant pushed many many ads in between the Oscar or let’s say, we saw Oscars streaming in between the ads. While the former is true for official usage, the latter is true in terms of user experience.
With the extremely pathetic placing of ads, badly hampered the viewing experience as users also missed many parts of the event solely due to abrupt ads.
Now, this not only seriously upsets the users but also badly impacts the way people perceive Hotstar as a platform.
