They belong to the smaller section of India – the tier 2, and tier 3 cities. It is the segment which the heads at Hotstar believe will explode in the coming years. As always, Hotstar plans to be a step ahead.
All the latest blockbuster movies from different languages will be available for free on Hotstar. What’s more, people will also get to see their favourite episodes from Star TV for free. The free content here will be regularly updated with the latest ones and won’t be stale.
Hotstar is doing this all at a time when the competitors are still trying to gain a foothold in the urban terrain of India. On the premium front, they are in an excellent position with the existing content. It is in this position without the addition (on arrival) of Disney Plus.
