In the teaser, admittedly to introduce the concept, we see the characters of Ali Faizal and Shriya Pilgaonkar interacting with a house broker. If one were under the impression that they are a couple, they couldn’t be any more wrong. The trailer provides the right context, and we now know what they are up to.
House Arrest is a small and quirky concept. Ali Fazal’s character is not willing to come out of the house no matter what? It has been six months he has locked up inside the room. Various characters interact with him, but it is all done by staying in the house. Shriya Pilgaonkar enters the scenes as a journalist and encourages Ali to come out. We have to see what happens next.
The premise is too quirky for its own good. If the screenplay is not engaging, House Arrest could be on a downward spiral pretty soon. Apart from Ali Fazal and Shriya, Jim Sarbha, and Barkha Singh essay other vital roles.
Check out the trailer below. Shashanka Ghosh and Samit Basu direct House Arrest. It will premiere on Netflix on November 15th.
