After stunning the audience with its brutally unpredictable and riveting Season-1 finale, fans of HBO’s fantasy drama series ‘House of the Dragon’ are waiting with bated breath for the show’s second season. HOTD, which was renewed for Season-2 just a few days after Season-1 premiere, is expected to come out with the follow-up season sometime in the year 2024. HOTD Season-2 will have eight episodes compared to the opening season’s ten episodes.

As per a recent update (via Redanianintelligence.com), HOTD S2 title has been revealed and it gives a big hint about the show’s opening sequence and initial plotline. Episode-1 of ‘House of the Dragon’ Season-2 has been apparently titled ‘A Son for A Son’.
Now, for those of you who have seen HOTD S1 must be aware that the season ended with the violent death of Rhaenyra’s young son Lucerys Velaryon by Prince Aemond and his formidable dragon Vhagar (even though accidentally). And from the second season’s opening episode title ‘A Son for A Son’, it suggests in a big way that the devastated mother will get her revenge at the outset.
If the series sticks to George R.R. Martin’s ‘Fire and Blood’, then Daemon Targaryen will hire two lowborn assassins called Blood and Cheese to enter the Red Keep and carry out an assassination of one of the sons of Aegon. Whether they will be able to execute the mission or not, that will be known only after the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’ arrives. Nothing can be said with certainty as of now.
The ‘House of the Dragon’ series is based on some segments of George R. R. Martin’s 2018 fantasy novel ‘Fire & Blood’ and the goings-on takes place around two centuries before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and revolves around the beginning of the end of House Targaryen.
