House of the Dragon Scribe and Jurassic World Helmer Team Up for Atlantis

Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow will collaborate with Charmaine DeGraté, a writer and co-executive producer for HBO’s House of the Dragon, for Skydance’s upcoming Atlantis movie. The project was previously in the works at Universal.

Apart from his helming duties, Trevorrow will co-produce it with Dana Goldberg, David Ellison, and Don Granger via his Metronome Film Company, with DeGraté serving as the screenwriter.

Skydance has not yet released an official logline for its upcoming project. But it will be a fantasy adventure dealing with the mythological civilisation that sank due to the actions of men and ancient gods.

Trevorrow was previously developing Atlantis at Universal. However, the studio returned the project to the helmer, resulting in Skydance grabbing the opportunity. Before DeGraté, Dante Harper was working on the film’s script. He is best known for his work in Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant (2017).

In addition to her work for House of the Dragon, DeGraté has served as one of the executive producers for Amazon’s upcoming musical drama, Daisy Jones & The Six, starring Riley Keough. The show will debut in March. Additionally, she is co-executive producing The Acolyte, an upcoming Star Wars series.

Trevorrow’s last directional project was Jurassic World Dominion which barely managed to cross the $1 billion mark at the box office. Also, the majority of the critics greeted the film with scathing reviews.

You can stream HBO’s House of the Dragon and Jurassic World on Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video respectively. Stay tuned for more updates.
