How Did Prime Video Miss The Killer Move With The New Mobile Plan?

Prime Video India has launched a new mobile edition plan which costs ₹599 annually. The platform launched the mobile program to tap a larger audience just like Disney+Hotstar. It would be a single-user app and will give access to all the content on the platform.

Also, it is quite affordable according to the platform.

But, there is a big issue that single handedly turns off the excitement. Unfortunately, they didn’t take inspiration from Hotstar but from Netflix.

We are talking about resolution. Prime Video would allow only SD (480P) streaming in the mobile plan. In 2022, SD streaming can never give users the required fun as even FHD quality is easily available to most people through YouTube.

We are not saying that it would hamper the potential of the plan, because many people will anyway subscribe to this plan for saving themselves from the much more expensive regular plan.

But for those, who want to stream in a better manner, this is certainly not the plan to go with. And shows like Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power can’t be enjoyed in 480p.

We realize that 1080p might be unviable for them but at least 720p to match with Disney+Hotstar would be a sane decision.

So just like Netflix, the perfect plan by Prime Video doesn’t exist.
