Eternals is now streaming on the Disney+ Hotstar. There’s no doubt that the movie received the most inharmonious response from the MCU fanbase during its theatrical run. It also affected its box office collections, barely crossing the $400 million mark globally. Yes, the film adaptation of Jack Kirby’s characters didn’t work out as anticipated. But it doesn’t mean that it was not a crucial addition to MCU’s Phase Four.
SPOILER WARNING!
Like all other MCU entries, Eternals also had a mid-credit scene and a post-credit one. The former ended up dropping thousands of jaws to the ground after showing One Direction fame, Harry Styles, as Thanos’ brother, Eros. But the second credit scene turned out to be more intriguing than the first one.
We watched Dane Whitman (Kit Harrington) trying to wield the Ebony Blade in the end-credit scene. But a mysterious voice stops him from touching that blade out of nowhere. Do you know whose voice was that? Does the name Mahershala Ali ring any bell to your ears? Alright, alright, alright! It was none other than Mahershala Ali, ready to play Marvel’s most notable vampire hunter, Blade, in the upcoming MCU film of the same name.
Blade’s vocal appearance in Eternals proves that Kevin Feige and his team are ready to jump into the horror territory apart from dealing with the breach of Multiverse. And we will see Whitman donning the suit of Black Knight in future MCU instalments. fe
How does Moon Knight fit into this situation? The official synopsis of the upcoming MCU series hints at a grand scale war among the gods. And you guessed it right! Marc Spector’s addition will shape up the result of that battle. Also, the creators have notified that Jack Kirby’s Eternals served as their prime inspiration for the show. Furthermore, Moon Knight shares a deep connection with lots of ancient mythologies. We can expect Issac’s character to delve deep into the roots of ancient cultures and encounter Whitman’s Ebony Blade.
Will we witness the trio of Moon Knight, Black Knight, and Blade sharing the screen in future? Only Kevin Feige can answer this question.
