How Is ‘Mura’ Going To Get Worldwide Exposure?

The upcoming trend of Malayalam cinema getting worldwide releases is a profound matter for its industry. Its nature of upbringing big budget projects in other parts of the globe is having great reception. Is Mollywood getting more exposed now? How are they representing world cinema?

‘Mura’ (Eng. Tactic) is directed by Muhammed Mustafa which is his second feat with a different sub-genre. Riya Shibu for HR Pictures bankrolled the effort where Suresh Babu pens the screenplay and dialogues. Also, the director’s first movie ‘Kappela’ received high critical acclaim from the critics.

As per the recent data regarding the locations of releases, countries like the U.S. are also arranging space for a raw local film despite its smaller scale and bigger cast, this is a rare event where the flicks with great canvas represent Mollywood to other parts.

Also, the number of Malayalam film audiences is getting significant in places like California, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, etc. where this can be a strategic way of propagating the film to a broader audience.

However, the lack of plot and not having a compelling international quality might disinterest the audience of a larger proportion of these places, where the movie could only get the tag of being a small and unexpected flick shown on the big screens of countries like the U.S.

Regarding the pros of the flick, stunt sequences choreographed by PC Stunts and performances are watchable. Again, the storyline has slight resemblances from Tamil movies like Sasikumar’s ‘Subramaniyapuram’ and ‘Goli Soda 2’ which makes a predictable narrative.

The movie features actors Suraj Venjaramoodu, Hridhu Haroon, Maala Parvathi, Kani Kusruti, Kannan Nayar, Jobin Das, Anujith Kannan, Yedhu Krishna, P.L Thengapan, Vigneshwar Suresh, Krish Hassan, Siby Joseph and Alfred Jose respectively. A lot of the enlisted actors are new talents in the pool.
