Logout had everything it needed to be a hit: an interesting plot, a face like Babli Khan, and a theme that speaks directly to today’s digital world. It’s a thriller about a social media influencer whose life spirals out of control after his phone is stolen. The idea is fresh, the execution is solid, and it even did the rounds at international film festivals in 2024. But somehow, it slipped under the radar.
The biggest problem?
ZEE5 didn’t do enough to promote it.
The film premiered on April 18, 2025, but barely anyone knew. Apart from the trailer release on April 8, there was no real marketing push. No strong social media campaign, no big interviews, no buzz. For a film that literally talks about digital fame and online identity, the irony is hard to miss it wasn’t even visible in the digital space.
With better promotion, Logout could’ve easily found its audience. People are hungry for stories that reflect the times, and this one had all the right ingredients. But even good content needs the right spotlight.
Unfortunately, ZEE5 didn’t deliver.
This wasn’t a failure of the film it was a failure of promotion. And it’s a shame, because Logout deserved to be talked about a lot more than it is.
