How Marvel’s Daredevil Can Still Work Without Rated-R Territory?

We all witnessed Charlie Cox gracing us with his magnetic presence in Spider-Man No Way Home. Ever since the third MCU Spidey movie came out in theatres, the Marvel fanbase is craving for a new Daredevil show. Netflix abruptly buried the series back in 2018 after dispatching three spectacular seasons to its viewers. This tragic piece of news ended up breaking millions of hearts. But the hope of Marvel netfans skyrocketed after seeing Matt Murdock trying to help Peter Parker during the initial moments of NWH. However, there is a fair portion of Daredevil fans who are worried about MCU’s PG-13 treatment of its superheroes. They just do not want to watch the Devil of the Hell’s Kitchen getting nerfed in a future Daredevil instalment. But there is another side to this scenario. Can MCU deliver a breathtaking Daredevil entry without utilising the freedom of the Rated-R territory? That’s the thing we have to figure out.

How about we take the example of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman here? Despite receiving a heavy backlash from the fans, Warner Bros dispatched the film with a PG-13 rating. And the studio’s decision worked out pretty well in terms of critical reception and box office figures. The latest Matt Reeves directional proves that plenty of dark content can be suffused into a 3-hour superhero flick.

Batman takes a shot of green-coloured adrenaline and beats the hell out of a Riddler impersonator. He also brutally breaks a guy’s arm. Additionally, all of Riddler’s crimes were incredibly dark. Yet all of these things managed to clear the PG-13 rating. And if this can happen, then we can expect the same from the upcoming Daredevil show.

There is no way Disney+ can bestow a Rated-R version of Daredevil to its viewers. After all, the streaming service has to maintain its viewership. But if it plays its cards right with a little help and good direction from MCU, we can get a near-perfect Daredevil show. The series can bestow jaw-dropping grim moments, dark cinematography, outstanding performances, and a lot more. But the makers of the show have to treat the superhero right. Plus, they have to be a bit faithful to the series’ previous Netflix instalments.

Let’s see how Marvel Studios delivers a PG-13 Daredevil to its viewers. Stay tuned for more updates.
