Raayan, the second directorial movie of Dhanush, is creating a huge impact in the box office as well as in the minds of the people. It became the top third highest grossing Kollywood film for the year 2024 and the tickets are still being sold as we talk. The excellent result the movie delivered was thanks to the whole team, but certain features need to be iterated.
First and foremost, Dhanush’s role both before and behind the cameras as the director and actor. Dhanush’s performance in the movie was amazing as always. Though his work as the director too is evident in the movie. The excellent graphics, the fantastic cinematography, the sound everything just bejewells the movie. Also, the wonderful performances by the supporting cast is praiseworthy. Stellar performances by actors like S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj and Selvaraghavan are worth watching. And what else to say about A. R. Rahman’s compositions other than perfect. His vocals elevate the emotional depth of the scene transcending you to another realm.
The film’s plot, screenplay and story managed to grab the audience’s attention. The screenplay of the movie also attained the laurel of being the part of the library of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The movie though primarily is an action movie, still it is not only limited to that. It is but a good balance of action and drama with good focus on the emotional depths in scenes of dramatic importance. The action sequences are as always thrilling to watch.
The film though got mixed reviews from critics, still managed to impress and amuse the audience thanks to all these factors. The film shines on the box office and is still increasing its collection day by day.
