How The Batman’s Funeral Scene Clip Sets the Tone for the Movie?

Warner Bros has dispatched the extended footage of the funeral scene of The Batman. And the fans are going gaga over the released clip from the movie. A majority of The Dark Knight’s fanbase believes that scene is enough to set the tone and expectations for the upcoming DC project.

The scene commences with Bruce Wayne attending a high-profile funeral. Soon, he gets accompanied by Bella Real (Jayme Lawson), a possible mayor candidate for Gotham. The latter believes that Master Wayne is not doing anything for the city, considering all the wealth and resources he possesses. But a lonely boy grabs the attention of Bruce. Maybe he started feeling how he first felt when he lost his parents after seeing that boy. Out of nowhere, James Gordon informs his chief that Gil Colson is missing.

If you don’t know who Gil Colson is, then let us inform you. He is one of the prominent district attorneys in Gotham. However, he is not as honest as Harvey Dent was in the comics. His involvement in the city’s corruption must have attracted The Riddler’s attention. Maybe that’s why the latter chose Colson as his next target.

That scene perfectly brings out the movie’s realistic and dark tone. The entire public goes into a state of panic after seeing a bomb attached to Colson’s body. Gordon orders everyone to leave the building. But Bruce stays there. Robert Pattinson didn’t even utter a single word in that clip. Yet, he was able to display what Bruce felt at that moment. He shows why Bruce prefers Batman over himself. He kept moving slowly towards Colson, exhibiting his absence of fear and care for the people inside that building. But he also feels restrained in Bruce’s self. That clip delineates the gravity of his performance.

Apart from the gorgeous cinematography, the film will serve as a torture ride for Bruce. The fans will witness how he deals with his suppressed rage and discovers a balance between the personas of Gotham’s favourite son and The Caped Crusader.

Plus, we see Paul Dano’s Riddler for a short time in that footage. He is finally getting the recognition he deserves. He may portray the most menacing version of The Riddler on the big screen in the forthcoming DC film.

The Batman will release on March 4. Mark your calendars now!
