How Tollywood Massacred a Massive Festival Opportunity

This Independence Day is absolutely big at the box office. The Hindi film industry is ready to explode as Stree 2 is getting a thunderous response at the box office. The movie is getting excellent reviews and even people are showing great enthusiasm to enjoy the film on the big screens.

The condition of Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa is bad but c’mon, it was kind of inevitable. Everyone saw it coming.

The Tamil film industry is also on a nice spree. Thangalaan is not something extraordinary from a critical point of view but the scale is something that the people are definitely gonna love. Demonte Colony 2 is also an above average film that works for the season.

Now, let’s talk about the Malayalam film industry. Manorathangal is getting a positive response. Nunakuzhi and Vaazha are getting extremely positive responses. The critics are loving the film and that is what we expect from Mollywood.

But what about Tollywood?

When the rest of the country is enjoying great cinema, Tollywood released “Double iSmart” and “Mr Bachchan”. Both these films are practically unwatchable. Initially, Pushpa 2 was supposed to be released on Independence Day but the mess up of that Allu Arjun film demands a whole different article.

The bottom line is, that both the Telugu films are underwhelming and it would badly affect the box office numbers in the Nizam region. The people of Hyderabad and other metropolis might enjoy Stree 2, Thangalaan or even Laila Majnu but the second-tier cities are definitely at a loss due to these two Telugu movies.
