Bollywood is going through its most terrible phase and one can blame the lack of originality for it. The remakes and sequels have strained the audiences for long and thus resulted in this boycott trend.
But despite being a remake of the Tamil superhit, ‘Vikram Vedha‘ is not getting the backlash that other movies are getting. The trailer has been released and it is getting mixed reviews. A part of the audience is excited for Hrithik Roshan‘s comeback as the amazing ‘Vedha’, previously played by Vijay Sethupathi. Vijay Sethupathi did a tremendous job against the rough and tough cop character of R. Madhavan.
Netizens were not ready to accept anyone else for the role of Vedha after the huge acceptance of Sethupathi’s portrayal. Even when Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan were announced to be playing the roles of Sethupathi and Madhavan respectively, there was not enough positive response. But now that the trailer is released, Hrithik’s strength, vigour and deftness in playing an already famous character has kindled hope in the hearts of many.
Saif Ali Khan is not so strongly present in the trailer even though his acting is admirable. But Hrithik seems to be the backbone of the film. Hrithik plays the role in a completely different style than Vijay and he looks different. In other words, he owns the character and lives through it. The groovy BGM and sharp dialogues propel him to be the face of the movie. Anyone else than him cannot even be imagined in that role, and any other actor would have produced a lot more negativity regarding the remake.
Maniacs are boycotting Vikram Vedha too, but just as the tweets and trends of boycotting Brahmāstra did not work out so well, this movie too has the chances of doing good business in the theatres and Hrithik will be one of the biggest reasons for that.
