Huge: Every 8th Person Is An Apple Subscriber

During the June 2023 quarter, Apple delivered strong financial results that surpassed Wall Street’s expectations, despite a 1.4% decline in top-line revenue, which was credited to low iPhone sales. Nevertheless, CEO Tim Cook proudly announced a significant achievement for the tech giant – it now boasts over 1 billion paid subscriptions across all its apps and services, marking a remarkable 150 million increase compared to the previous year.

Apple’s services unit displayed robust growth, with sales reaching $21.21 billion during the quarter. This segment includes various offerings such as the App Store, Apple Pay, Apple Card, and subscription services like Apple TV+, Apple Music, and iCloud.

During the earnings call, Tim Cook emphasized the outstanding performance of Apple TV+, stating that it set a new quarterly revenue record. He also pointed out the streamer’s impressive 54 nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards.

It’s worth noting that Apple’s tally of paid subscriptions includes both their Apple-branded services, such as Apple Music and Apple TV+, as well as services provided via third-party apps. In the previous quarter, the company reported 975 million paid subscriptions.

Cook expressed his satisfaction with the results, saying, “We are happy to report that we had an all-time revenue record in Services during the June quarter, driven by over 1 billion paid subscriptions, and we saw continued strength in emerging markets thanks to robust sales of iPhone.”

There are around 8 billion people in the world and the subscribers of Apple services are 1 Billion. So we can say that every 8th person in the whole wide world has subscribed to Apple in a way or another. This is a humongous achievement for the tech company.

With a market capitalization of around $3 trillion, Apple remains the most valuable company globally.
