Huma Qureshi, Chandrachur Singh Set To Lead Shiladitya Bora’s ‘Bayaan’

Huma Qureshi and Chandrachur Singh will star in investigative drama ‘Bayaan’ coming from filmmaker Shiladitya Bora (‘Newton’, ‘Picasso’). The film will be helmed by Bikas Mishra (‘Chauranga’) and is set to start filming in Rajasthan later this month.

Set against the backdrop of the western Indian desert state of Rajasthan, ‘Bayaan,’ which means statement that serves as evidence, follows a father-daughter duo. The story centers on Roohi, a female detective investigating her first case as a lead in a small Rajasthani town. Facing opposition from a well-connected adversary, Roohi must navigate the challenges while living up to her father’s reputation in law enforcement.

In addition to Quraishi and Singh, ‘Bayaan’ will also star Sachin Khedekar (‘Sita Ramam), Avijit Dutt (‘Piki’), Shampa Mandal (‘Sonchiriya’, ‘Sherni’), Priti Shukla, Vibhor Mayank and Aditi Kanchan Singh.

Written and directed by Bikas Mishra, ‘Bayaan’ is supported by International Film Festival Rotterdam’s Hubert Bals Fund and was developed at the LA Residency, part of Film Independent’s Global Media Makers program.

Craig Mazin (‘Chernobyl’) was Mishra’s mentor during his residency and he also received script advice from writer Jeff Stockwell and story editor Ruth Atkinson.

‘Bayaan’ is a joint production by Shiladitya Bora’s Platoon One Films; Madhu Sharma’s Summit Studios; and Kunal Kumar and Anshuman Singh. Stay tuned to Binged.com for further updates!
