Ice Age 6 Announced At D23 Brazil

Now, if you too are missing the frigid winters, perhaps a little ice will do you good. After 10 years, Ice Age is returning with a new movie. And the entire cast of the fan favorite characters is making a return as well. We got Manny, Sid, and Diego coming together on a new adventure as announced in the D23 expo in Brazil. The last we saw of them, they were having a continental drift, and now that we have Manny with his own family, perhaps we might have another family-friendly adventure.

The movie franchise initially kicked off in 2002 and made a whopping 6 billion dollars in profit. The first movie introduced us to the characters that we all know and love, and the cast has been growing ever since. The movie has also seen an evolution in the animation technology over the course of two decades. The wooly mammoth, the sabretooth tiger, and Sid the sloth, alongside Scrat the squirrel, became every kid’s favorites.

The main question remains as to who will be producing these films. Initially, the first five films were made by the Blue Sky Studios, who were also responsible for movies like Rio. The studio had its final run with the franchise as they posted a final video showing Scrat finally finding the acorn. While we all thought the movie franchise had settled down., here we are for a sixth movie.

The next movie would be taken care of by the Fox Animation division now acquired by Disney. The original cast is returning, with Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, and Denis Leary all coming back for a hilarious adventure of the Pleistocene age.
