Idris Elba set to star in Apple TV limited series “Hijack”

Apple TV roped Idris Elba to play a major role in their limited series titled “Hijack”. As the title suggests the series will revolve around a hijack of an aircraft and Idris Alba is playing Sam Nelson who is a negotiator trying to save the passengers of the aircraft. And the interesting part is the series will narrate the story in real time.

The series is a part of Idris Elba’s first-look deal with Apple TV+ where his Green Door Pictures signed with the tech giant in 2020. George Kay who is famous for creating Netflix’s “Lupin” is also writing for “Hijack”. And Jim Field Smith is set to direct the series. Idris Elba will also be the executive producer along with 60Forty Films and Kay and Smith’s Idiotlamp Productions in association with Green Door.

Hijack tells the story of a flight which is hijacked and makes a seven-hour journey towards London. The authorities then tries to trace the flight and Idris Elba’s character Sam Nelson who plays as an established negotiator who makes a high risk strategy to save the lives of passengers. The story of the series promises to deliver a nail-biting experience.

Idris Elba who made his entry in Hollywood in HBO’s “The wire” is currently working on one of the most anticipated movies BBC’s “Luther” which is a series and is getting a movie adaptation, a continuation of the series at Netflix.
