JioHotstar has taken the world by the storm. The outrageous numbers of 200 million subscribers are just insane and we are sure that there is something fishy behind it. Because less than a month ago the number of subscribers was hardly 100 million subscribers and now touching 200 million subscribers suddenly seems a little weird.
Anyway, let’s tell you some facts. This January, Netflix crossed 300 million subscribers globally. So the largest streaming platform in the world took many many years to cross 300 million subscribers, and JioHotstar jumped 100 million subscribers in less than a month?
How does it even sound?
Definitely not believable.
More importantly, where are these people who have suddenly surged?
Such a jump in the number of subscribers would never take place without a social media uproar or anything like that. This apparently happened in total silence, which raises further suspicions about the whole event.
But if it is true, then in that situation we must see a big improvement in the content, but it is far from the truth. At max, we are getting very mediocre to bad content on the platform, and it is a big time decline from the peak of Disney+Hotstar around 3 years back.
