Netflix India is never known for making series that find a way into the daily conversation of the masses. This is typical of Amazon Prime Video and Disney+Hotstar that which have a deeper impact on the audience.
The latest series by Netflix India is called Indian Predator: Murder In A Courtroom. It is a well-made documentary and gives chilling details of the actual incident which happened years back in a courtroom in Maharashtra. Although we are yet to see the performance of “Indian Predator: Murder In A Courtroom” on Netflix things is looking decent.
The show suffered pathetically at the hands of Netflix’s pathetic marketing policy which puts all energy into some shows and completely forgets the potential of some good shows like Delhi Crime and Indian Predator.
Given the attention it got, the documentary series gained quite a decent view nonetheless.
But, the impact this series is leaving is much deeper than mere views. The subject of the series is too controversial, too depressing, and almost like digging an old wound.
Now that the documentary has refreshed the memories of those involved directly or indirectly, they are reacting. Many people are cursing some participants of the documentary and some are hailing them.
These comments are dropping for Sanjay Tiwari for his stand in the documentary.
Renowned journalist Punya Prasun Bajpai also shared his clear stand on the whole issue.
Men’s rights activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj on the series.
The great thing about these posts is, they are not promotional tweets. Because if it were, then they would not take any clear stand in the whole dispute. Indian Predator is undoubtedly a bigger win for Netflix than it appears on the surface. But yet again, it should be shameful for the platform that they are putting minimum to no efforts in promoting the series.
We realise that Indian Predator won’t give sensible memes for posting on social media. Also, they can’t possibly be posting dark and dank memes. But, it is their responsibility to bring some out of the box ideas and they are failing a big time into that.
