When Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha was released the chances of the film outperforming even RRR were in talks. The film was making buzz around the globe within a few hours of its release and thus, views were promising.
If you remember then Binged informed its readers that RRR is the first and only film to trend in Global Top 10 for 14 weeks continuously. At least for the first 7-8 weeks, even the views earned by the movie were really good. But, the same can’t be said about Laal Singh Chaddha.
The film is failing to outperform a movie even as obscure as Taapsee Pannu’s Dobaaraa.
If you see the charts then Dobaaraa is occupying the third spot with yet unappreciable views and the condition of Laal Singh Chaddha is even worse.
For something solid or respectable, a non-English movie must have around 8000K hours of views but both films are nowhere close to that.
The very reason these films even exist on the chart is due to the lack of any solid competition from any other movie. Otherwise, these views are pathetic, to say the least.
However, English movies have always had an edge over Netflix but the margin can be understood by the fact that the 10th most-watched English movie has much higher views than the 3rd most-watched non-English film.
But content can appeal and the content is simply not enough.
