Shankar’s much awaited sequel ‘Indian 2’ is running in theatres from today and the film is proving to be a big disaster with negative reviews pouring in from all corners. Turns out ‘Indian 2’ joins the list of sequels that failed to carry the legacy of the original.
The film’s trailer itself was a huge disappointment and now the film serves as an extension of the same. Even Kamal Haasan’s star presence could not save the poorly made film. The narrative is all messed up with no coherence.
People on the internet are calling ‘Indian 2’ to be an out and out cringe and according to some reviews it’s outdated and preaches too much about corruption.
Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh calls ‘Indian 2’ outdated and a missed opportunity for director Shankar. He further adds that not every interesting idea makes for an interesting film and blames archaic writing to be the biggest culprit for the film’s failure.
‘Indian 2’ was a highly anticipated sequel to a superhit first part and the fans were eagerly waiting for something big from Shankar and Kamal Haasan, but the first reviews are not looking any good for the film. As this word of mouth spreads far and wide, it will be very discouraging for those who wished to catch it on the weekend. As a result it will affect the film’s box office collection big time.
