After a spate of conspiracies, blame-games, acrimonious exchange of words and court cases, Kamal Haasan’s much awaited film ‘Indian 2’ is finally back on track! Production on the film kicked off this morning, with both director Shankar Shanmugam and star Kamal Haasan present on the sets, and in an upbeat MOOD. Star Kamal Haasan himself took to his Twitter handle to announce that Indian 2 has resumed shoot this morning. He posted several pictures from the sets of the film, along with a short video of the same.

Indian 2 has been languishing in developmental hell since a long time. The sequel to the 1996 blockbuster ‘Indian’ has seen a lot of churn in the last two years. But the success of Vikram and brand Kamal Haasan has infused new vigour and enthusiasm for Indian 2, for all stakeholders combined. The film has also received a shot in the arm by the coming on board of Udhaynidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies as co-producers. Lyca Productions are the original producers of Indian 2. Red Giant Movies had also bankrolled Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.
Kajal Aggarwal, rumoured to have left the project, is also back on board Indian 2, and will resume shooting for the film soon. Indian 2 also features Gulshan Grover, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash and Vennela Kishore in pivotal roles. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Now that everything seems to be working for Indian 2, lets hope that the highly anticipated film faces no more hurdles and hits cinema screens sooner rather than later.
