The trailer for the much awaited sequel ‘Indian 2’ is here and it’s one grand, massy return of the vigilante called Senapathy. Helmed by S. Shankar, ‘Indian 2’ will release in theatres on 12th July, 2024.
‘Indian 2’ trailer begins with youth frustrated about the ongoing situation in the country where there are neither any jobs for skilled people nor the right pay for the jobs that are there. Also, there are no appropriate facilities for the taxpayers. Corruption is rising, criminals are running free and while everyone keeps yapping about it no one does anything to change the system.
That’s when these youngsters remember one man who had the guts to challenge the system and change it and he is Senapathy or the freedom fighter. In order to find him they start an online campaign and when they find him, he seems reluctant initially but then the vigilante in him decides to take up the task where he tells the young to take Gandhian approach while he will follow the footsteps of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Talking about the feel of the trailer, it’s epic, colossal and massy in every sense. There’s action, drama, thrill, romance and everything that makes a complete entertainment package. But then it also feels mundane and running on themes that’s always been there. Despite the grand visuals it looks like a predictable storyline catering the masses. Lack of newness is pretty evident.
Written and directed by S. Shankar, ‘Indian 2’ is a vigilante action film wherein Kamal Haasan will reprise his role as Senapathy/Indian, an old freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption and crimes.
In addition to Kamal Haasan, ‘Indian 2’ also stars Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guri Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore and Deepa Shankar in supporting roles.
‘Indian 2’ is a tentpole film that has been in the making for quite some time. The film was delayed due to multiple reasons but is finally ready for the audience. The film’s cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu with editing from A. Seeker Prasad. Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for ‘Indian 2’.
‘Indian 2’ will release in cinemas on 12th July, 2024.
