Indian Origin Actress Joins Cast Of MCU’s Thunderbolts!

Marvel Studios has announced a new addition to its superhero roster. Geraldine Viswanathan, of Indian origin, is set to join the upcoming Marvel film, “Thunderbolts.” This announcement comes as she replaces Ayo Edebiri due to scheduling conflicts.

Her debut role was in the comedy “Blockers,” since then Viswanathan has been steadily rising in the industry. Her inclusion in “Thunderbolts” will definitely give her far better exposure to the audience.

In “Thunderbolts,” Viswanathan joins an ensemble cast that includes acclaimed actors such as Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and more. Directed by Jake Schreier and produced by Marvel Studios president the film promises to bring an exciting storyline to the big screen.

The plot of “Thunderbolts” remains largely under wraps, but the rumours say that it will center around a group of villains undertaking missions commissioned by the government.

Beyond “Thunderbolts,” Viswanathan’s upcoming projects include starring alongside Margaret Qualley in Ethan Coen’s “Drive-Away Dolls” and the Amazon comedy “You’re Cordially Invited,” featuring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.

It is not the first time we are seeing an Indian origin actor playing a role in the MCU. Our beloved Farhan Akhtar essayed a role in Ms Marvel. Also, we had Harish Patel in Eternals. But, Geraldine Viswanathan as a fresh addition is a big deal nonetheless.
