The International Emmy’s was a star-studded affair with stars of many popular series and shows across the world being part of the ceremony. The Indian presence too was there, thanks to Netflix backed Lust Stories and Sacred Games.
Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Radhika Apte, Vikramaditya Motwane, Zoya Akhtar, Nawazuddin Siddique, and Ronnie Screwwala were some of the notable names that made it to the event as part of the Indian contingent. They were competing with the best of the best, from the rest of the world. Unfortunately, everyone lost in all the categories they were nominated in for the Emmys.
There was a silver lining, though. Nawazuddin Siddiqui who was also part of another international show, McMafia, won it. Nominated for Best Drama Series, McMafia won the award, making it a joyful evening for the Sacred Games star.
The actor par excellence, Nawazuddin shared happiness with delight on the social media platform. He posted a picture which had him holding the award along with the creators and the lead of the show.
As an actor, Nawazuddin recently saw a disastrous outing theatrically in the form of Motichoor Chaknachoor. The grand reception at the Emmy’s again highlights why the non-theatrical platform has been a boon to artists like him as it takes out the box office pressure, from their minds.
