The fan-favourite and adventurous archaeologist is back! Lucasfilm dropped the final trailer of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, starring Harrison Ford, at the Star Wars Celebration in London this Friday. The clip presented by director James Mangold and Fleabag fame Phoebe Waller-Bridge gave some ideas about the upcoming Disney project.
The footage opens up with Indy planning on retiring for good. But it all changes after Helena, Indy’s goddaughter, arrives in his life. She knows about a dial capable of “changing the course of history”. And she is ready to go to all lengths to get that dial. However, Indy worries about her as his goddaughter is chasing what made her father mad.
Apart from Ford and Bridge, the trailer gives a closer look at Mads Mikkelsen’s Voller and John Rhys-Davies’ Sallah.
“They haven’t seen each other for a very long time, and in some ways, she’s the worst thing that could happen to him at this time in his life, but also the best thing,” Waller-Bridge revealed at the Star Wars Celebration.
Amidst the Space Race in 1969, the renowned archaeologist, Indiana Jones, raises his concerns about the US government’s decision to take ex-Nazis’ aid to beat the Soviet Union in the space race. Meanwhile, Voller, a NASA member and ex-Nazi, is determined the change the world according to his ideals. He needs the dial of destiny to complete his insane mission.
The fifth instalment opens up with a flashback sequence, showing the iconic character in a digitally de-aged form. It will be the last Indiana Jones flick, according to Ford.
The rest of the cast includes Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Toby Jones, and Boyd Holbrook. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will hit the theatres on June 30. Stay tuned for more updates.
