Ever imagined a rehashed version of one of the most iconic lifeforms, which has been the focal point of many acclaimed Hollywood filmmakers including the maverick director, Peter Jackson? Yes, you guessed it right – we are talking about the mightily glorified (in a literal sense) enormous ape.
Now just hold your thought there.
Have you ever envisioned one of the two major Sanskrit epics – ‘Ramayana’ from the perspective of the mighty and divine ‘Hanuman’ in a live-action motion picture that has the potential to surpass even the celebrated Hollywood film franchise?
What if we tell you that the above-mentioned scenarios are ostensibly being brought to the screen by Indian filmmakers (with a twist)? We are saying so because the makers have recently unveiled a glimpse video of their upcoming motion picture ‘Kapi’.
And without exaggerating, we can simply say that the breathtaking teaser of ‘Kapi’ is an absolute delight to watch. You may have never seen such awe-inspiring visuals in an Indian film before.
Being helmed by Gokulraj Baskar, ‘Kapi’ (which translates in English to Ape/Monkey) is being touted as India’s first giant superhero venture.
From the glimpse of it, the film is apparently a unique rendition of ‘Ramayana’ from God Hanuman’s point of view. A fervent devotee of Lord Ram, God Hanuman is one of the pivotal characters of the revered epic.
The teaser starts off with a scenic island view comprising majestic waterfalls. The video subsequently cuts to a side-low angle glimpse of the mighty and mystical being.
Thereafter, we are shown snippets of the superhero’s journey to the land of Raavana. The next scene shows us in what appears to be a depiction of the burning of Lanka by God Hanuman.
A few frames later in the teaser, we see a man with divine aura (apparently Lord Ram) standing on a rough terrain against the backdrop of a giant ape’s head emerging from beneath.
A spectacle indeed. The 1 minute and 38 seconds teaser culminates with the words “Roaring Soon”, which made us all the more thrilled.
And we thought only S.S.Rajamouli was capable of surprising us with such aesthetic cinematic splendor facilitated by top-grade special effects.
We are eagerly waiting for the film’s release. In the meanwhile, you can watch the teaser below. Om Hanumate Namah.
