The 20-year-old Tribeca Film Festival backed by Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Productions has recently announced its line-up of films for its 2022 edition which is scheduled to take place between 8th to 19th June in New York. And this time, the only Indian film that will be showcased under the ‘International Narrative Competition’ segment is Shlok Sharma’s directorial drama ‘Two Sisters and A Husband’.

For the unversed, Shlok Sharma is an Indian filmmaker who had previously directed acclaimed performers Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi in the 2015 film ‘Haraamkhor’ and a segment in the 2013 anthology film ‘Shorts’.

Backed by maverick filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, ‘Two Sisters and A Husband’ is a relationship drama that is set amidst the stunning backdrop of the Himalayas. However, by a twist of fate, Rajat gets married to Amrita’s elder sister Tara (Avani Rai). The story takes another turn when Amrita gets pregnant, and the three protagonists are forced to run away to a mountain town.
