The trailer for the Malayalam sports drama, ‘Aaha’, was released on YouTube last night… And it was an eye-opener. While the first teaser (which was released months ago) gave us a brief look into the film’s story, this trailer has finally given us the “meat” of the film. From what we understand, Indrajith plays a retired tug of war specialist who used to be part of one of the strongest tug of war teams in the state of Kerala, Aaha Neeloor. He has left the entire sport behind after some unexpected traumatic events. He spend his days taking care of himself and reminiscing about his wife, who passed away. Now, a group of young tug of war aspirants have come to him, hoping that he would coach them. He doesn’t want to be a part of tug of war anymore and refuses. However, after a nightmare, he wants a chance to redeem himself in the sport that he loves, so he eventually agrees to be their coach. The trailer shows two different timelines – one during Indrajith’s youth, the other during his days as a coach.
‘Aaha‘ was supposed to release in June 2021, before the second wave of coronavirus pandemic hit the state of Kerala. This caused the filmmakers to postpone the film, indefinitely. However, last month, days after the theatre reopening was announced, the film’s producers quickly made their own announcement regarding the release date of this sports drama.
‘Aaha’ will premiere in theatres on November 26th 2021.
