Indrani Mukerjea Docuseries To Release On Netflix On This Date

Back in the year 2015, the whole nation was shocked when they read the news about media baron Indrani Mukerjea getting arrested by the cops after she was accused of being involved in the alleged killing of her own daughter Sheena Bora. She was imprisoned for around six and a half years. Everyone must have thought: how can a mother kill her own daughter? Indrani Mukerjea was later granted bail in 2022.

The streaming platform Netflix has revealed through its app that a documentary series titled ‘The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth’ is set to start streaming on the OTT platform. And the release date for the docuseries is 23rd February. The official synopsis reads: “Featuring new revelations and unprecedented access, this docuseries digs into the disappearance of 25-year-old Sheena Bora and the shocking aftermath.”

Last year, an autobiographical account of Indrani Mukerjea – ‘Unbroken: The Untold Story’ was published. She wrote about her childhood days to her rise as a media baron to her days spent in prison, etc.

Many of you must have also read about the shocking case and the twist which came out later. Indrani Mukerjea said that her daughter Sheena Bora was still alive and living in the USA. But what’s the real truth, only time can tell when the courts reveal their final judgement pertaining to the case.

Previously, there was a Bengali film ‘Dark Chocolate’ which was made, and which was said to be inspired by the Sheena Bora Murder case. It starred Mahima Chaudhry and Riya Sen in the lead roles.
