Inside Out 2 Record-Breaking Teaser Trailer Maps Pixar’s Epic Return

The official teaser trailer of Pixar’s Inside Out 2 has become the most-watched Disney trailer in a day. The forthcoming Kelsey Mann directional will serve as a direct sequel to the first Inside Out film (2015). The first entry focuses on a growing Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) who suffers a severe emotional imbalance after shifting from Minnesota to San Francisco with her family. This time, we have a new emotion, Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke), as Riley is now a teenager. And it is common for teenagers to face anxiety.

The Walt Disney Company has disclosed that Inside Out 2’s teaser trailer has racked up over 157 million views in the first 24 hours of its release. This record previously belonged to Frozen II, which gathered 116.4 million views in 24 hours.

This scenario proves that fans of the first Inside Out film are really interested in the upcoming sequel. It is not surprising at all, given how well both critics and audiences received the 2015 film. The flick earned nearly $858.8 million during its box office run, with a staggering ‘fresh’ RT score of 98 per cent. Reasons like the film’s outstanding animation quality, impressive voice performances, and innovative and breathtaking interpretation of the human mind contributed significantly towards the film’s gigantic success.

Viewers can relate to Inside Out 2, especially teenagers and young adults who constantly deal with anxiety in their daily lives. This scenario is something that receives little attention from people. And the sequel wants to address this issue in the best way possible: by using a blend of heart-touching voice performances and colourful and vibrant animation.

Inside Out 2 can also save Pixar, given how the animation studio has struggled with recent projects, such as Onward, Luca, Lightyear, and more. Elemental barely managed to save its skin at the box office. Will Inside Out 2 revive Pixar? We will have to wait until June 2024 to get the answer to this question. Stay tuned for more updates.
