Inside Out 2 Smashes The Box-office Predictions With $300M Worldwide

The industry was looking for a summertime hit, and Pixar delivered with Inside Out 2. Not only did it shatter projections, but it did so flawlessly and by a humongous margin.

Prior to the weekend, projections were around $85M domestically, with the international box office estimated at $50M, totaling $135M-$145M. However, as of today, the domestic market alone has reached the $155M mark, overshadowing the international numbers.

The international market grossed $140M, with Mexico emerging as the biggest market of the year, contributing more than $30M. Other top markets include Korea, the UK, and Germany.

The film not only brings in impressive numbers, but people are also loving it unconditionally. With a rating of 8 on IMDb and 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, the ratings showcase the grandeur of the film. Some viewers even argue that it is the best Pixar film of all time.

To restate the numbers, Inside Out 2 has the second biggest box-office opening in the past 11 months, with Barbie being the only film to have a better opening. It is also the biggest worldwide opening for an animated film.

The hype won’t be dying anytime soon. As a sequel to a beloved film and being tagged as one of the best Pixar films ever, Inside Out 2 will continue its strong run. With almost no competition right now, it is guaranteed to have another undisturbed weekend.
