Inspector Rishi: Folk Tale Brings Life To Predictable Show

In times like this, folk tales are becoming increasingly popular. We do realize that Bulbbul was successful due to its great content. But the greatness in Bulbbul was sprinkled due to the extraordinary blend of period drama with folk tales of demons and fairies.

Even Bramayugam for that matter has some really mind-blowing mix of Malayalam folk with psychological horror. Amidst all this, we come across this silently released series on Prime Video that mixes crime and thrill with folk and horror. Lately, Indian filmmakers have realized that pure horror is almost like a comedy movie for our audiences. They do not scare people anymore…so they need more elements.

It is sometimes a comedy in films like Stree and sometimes a thrill.

Inspector Rishi started streaming just this weekend on Prime Video. The trailer was launched at the big event of Prime Video that unveiled around 69 titles.

Inspector Rishi is about an inspector (goes without saying) and his two assistants who go by the name of Ayyanar and Chitra. They follow unconventional methods of investigation and come across demonic forces while going through a series of murders.

The series is getting a really good response as we finally got a good Tamil series from Prime Video after Suzhal: The Vortex.

It has 10 episodes ranging from 41 minutes to 60 minutes, so it naturally demands your significant time to binge watch. Yes, the show is predictable but it is still a worth-it show nonetheless.
