Invincible Season 3 will show more of Omni-Man, according to actor J. K. Simmons. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Simmons revealed that Mark Grayson’s father would regularly appear in the next season.
We witnessed Mark trying to follow in his father’s footsteps and make him proud by being a good and worthy superhero in Season 1. However, everything falls apart for Mark after he discovers Omni-Man’s true intentions, which were to make humanity vulnerable from the inside and aid the Viltrumites in taking control of the Earth. However, we see a completely different side of Omni-Man in Season 2. He was a man of redemption in the second season. In addition, he was integral to Season 2 Part 2.
In his recent talk with Screen Rant, J. K. Simmons discussed Omni-Man’s significance in Invincible Season 3. This is what he said:
“I think it’s a really interesting creative choice to not only focus on other things but to build that sort of anticipation and that sort of mystery of what the hell is going on with Nolan while we’re not focused on him. So, yeah, to me, it’s all a part of keeping it fresh. And yes, there will be more Nolan in the future, but it’ll continue to sort of wax and wane.”
Invincible tells the story of Mark Grayson. But we also know that Mark would not have understood the meaning of being a superhero if it were not for Omni-Man. His father’s evil intentions made him realise he had to become a better superhero than Omni-Man. This scenario gave a whole new dynamic to the father-son relationship between Mark and Omni-Man and inspired the former to be a better man.
Season 2 dealt with the aftermath of Omni-Man’s actions in Season 1. And Season 3 may focus on the latter’s actions in his fight against his homeworld, Viltrum. Plus, the next season may explore Omni-Man’s relationship with Debbie Grayson, Mark’s bond with his younger brother, and the likely invasion of the Viltrumites to a greater extent.
Invincible Season 3 may arrive on Prime Video in early 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
